My week has just ended, only to begin again tomorrow. Usually I get at least a little break from Friday after school until Sunday around noon when I have to get ready for choir, but this week my break is so much shorter because I had to take the ACT today.
Oh, goodness, I guess it wasn't as bad as I expected, but it still was not fun. Part 1 was easy because it was just the English and grammar stuff that I'm always correcting people on. Part 2 was math and that was much more difficult. I had to completely guess on about five and still had five more that I didn't finish because they make you put your pencil down immediately. Then there were a bunch more that were educated guesses with process of elimination. Part 3 was reading, and I've had pretty good reading comprehension for as long as I can remember, so hopefully that went well. Then part 4 was science and, well, I don't really like science. The Plus Writing part is probably what I'm most confident about, aside from part 1, because I think I'm a good essay writer. Before we started, I was going over all the essay-writing skills I could remember in my head: "Thesis, relate back to thesis, TIEA, answer the prompt, relate back to thesis." I was able to set up a typical five paragraph essay with three thesis points, despite only having thirty minutes. I even had a whole four and a half minutes to work on my conclusion, in contrast to Monday's essay where I had two and a half minutes... I think I got a 5 on that part. I don't think I got a 6, but that would be great! And a 4 would be good too, but anything less than that, I'll be kind of mad.
As soon as I got home at about 1:30, I went to my room and slept until 4. It was nice. I was actually able to sleep a little better than I have been for a while. I figure my temporary insomnia must've had something to do with stressing about the ACT. Then again, I probably still won't be able to sleep because I'm still stressing about DTASC, but that's another story...
Anyway, I'm going to the movies with my mom in a bit, so I'll sign off here. I'll be back tomorrow. DFTBA.
